One of the major upgrades that we were looking to implement in 2018 was the integration of a new payment processing system with Rise Concepts. This is now in place and we are excited about all of the new features that it brings to the table! We are most thrilled about how it has increased the ease of use of our platform for everyone involved: the Big Give administrators, the nonprofits, and the donors as well.
We covered in some detail the pros and cons of this new payment system integration in our 2018 Roadmap, so we won’t rehash that here. You may want to check out that post, as this will reference back to it. The main things that we want to draw your attention to are:
- On-boarding of nonprofits will be quicker and easier
- Nonprofits will actually receive more money with lower transaction fees
- Donors will stay on your site during checkout. This will provide a more seamless experience for the donor and give us better visibility if there are any payment issues during the transaction.
- Donors will have the option to cover the transaction fee for their donation
An account will be created with Rise Concepts for your sponsoring nonprofit 501(c)(3). This organization will act as a clearinghouse for the Big Give event. All the funds will be collected into this account and then distributed by the 501(c)(3) accordingly.*
